:: THE RACE COURSE IS ALL SET. A BREATHTAKING ITINERARY

The Seven Lakes Drive, the Short Roundabout and the Parallel 42 in the Andean Region are part of this groundbreaking venue for the 28th edition of the 1000 Millas Sport to be held from November 9th to 13th, 2016. Declared of municipal interest by the city of San Martín de los Andes, this race will close the Argentine regularity rally calendar for Classic Sports Cars supervised by ACA and Daniel Erejomovich has practically won the championship one more time.

It is the perfect combination of racing and driving. It calls for precision with the pressure switch and mother nature´s perfection to provide such majestic landscapes. These ageless automobiles are individual pieces of jewelry that stand out in the history of car making as they keep rushing along winding roads among lakes, forests and mountains. They are still pictures of the experiences lived year after year in the 1000 Millas in these quintessential tourism areas of Neuquén, Rio Negro and Chubut in Patagonia.

The three legs of this 2016 edition provide strikingly beautiful landscapes. On Thursday 10th the race will head towards the city of San Martín de los Andes that has declared the competition of municipal interest. This round trip will cover the famous Camino de los Siete Lagos (Seven Lakes Drive), a portion of national route 234 that connects San Martín de los Andes and Villa La Angostura unveiling matchless scenic views. In addition Lakes Lácar, Machónico, Falkner, Villarino, Escondido, Correntoso, Espejo and the endless Nahuel Huapi will force participants to stop and enjoy the view.

Both on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th, the 60 km long of the Circuito Chico (Short Roundabout) with the roads all covered in yellow and red is also worth mentioning with scotch brooms and rosehips all over the place. The 1000 Millas convoy will travel through some of Bariloche´s pioneer homesteads, the Boat Club, Playa Bonita, the foot of Cerro Campanario, San Eduardo Chapel, Puerto Pañuelo, Llao-Llao National Park, Colonia Suiza with cypresses, maitenes, coihues and ñires, among other local species.

Additionally, during the second leg, as they head back from Alicurá after a series of driving skill tests at Dina Huapi, cars will parade at the Civic Center and close the activities of the day at Cerro Catedral.

The final stage will take competitors to Lago Puelo, province of Chubut, a town that together with El Bolsón, El Hoyo, Epuyén, Cholila and El Maitén are known as the Comarca Andina del paralelo 42º (Parallel 42 in the Andean Region). This will take place before the tests at Lewis Karting Race Track and lunch will be served at Lago Escondido. This sports and tourism event will close at the idyllic Arelauquen country club.

Registrations are open until the end of September. Foreign duets and former international motor racing drivers have already signed in as well as exclusive pre-war models and other vehicles that will light up a fleet made up of 150 cars, maximum.

The 1000 Millas is race number eight and last of the 2016 Regularity Championship for Classic Sports Cars supervised by the Automóvil Club Argentino led by ruling champion, Daniel Erejomovich. Last weekend “Erejo” won the Interclub Rally that pretty much represents his fifth crown.
